Award Dinner FAQs (Eureka Prizes)

All you need to know about the Eureka Prizes Award Dinner.

When is is held? Wednesday 30 August 2017

Where is it held? Sydney Town Hall, 483 George St, Sydney. Information on getting there and information on accessibility.

What time should I arrive? Pre-dinner drinks from 6pm. Award proceedings start at 6.30pm sharp. Allow yourself enough time to arrive, collect your name tag, cloak your belongings and find your seat.

What should I wear? The dress code is black tie. We recommend that you come feeling comfortable and glamorous.

Do finalists know in advance that they have won? No.

Will anyone be announcing the winners on social media? Yes! The hashtag is #Eureka17 and we will be posting live updates from Twitter and Facebook

Will photographs from the night be available? Yes. Photos will be shared on social media as they become available and shots taken by our professional photographer can be obtained in the days following. We invite you to have your photo taken on the night by our roving photographers and at the media wall with colleagues, team mates and family members during the breaks. 

Some of my friends and family are unable to attend. Is there a way they can be involved? Yes. You can follow the action on Twitter and Facebook. The hashtag is #Eureka17. We will be posting information on winners as they are announced, as well as photos and more.

How many guests will be in attendance? Over 650 guests representing the who's who of Australian science will be there to celebrate the finalists and winners.

Will there be the opportunity to network? Yes. During the breaks between and at the Supper Club in the vestibule after the official proceedings.

What time does the Award Dinner conclude? Midnight.
