Sorry for the dealy in getting back to you.
The film you mentioned was one of our first attempts at using socail media to engage indigenous people in a dialogue and as it was only an experiment , no consutation was undertaken with the Mer people about the film.
Regarding the age of the collection collection most of the artifacts have been aquired over the last 140 years.

Thanks for the story guys. I have a couple of queries. In developing this story was the Mer community consulted? Also would you clarify the part where the voiceover states that ‘most of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander material was collected more than 200 years ago’ as I think it should be 100?'
