  • Thanks Kagey, I appreciate your comment. Would you go ahead and have your house sprayed (internally) if they were juvenile redbacks? I'm tending to favour 'yes' as I have 2 other children under the age of 4 years... But by all means, anyone, if your have any suggestions... I'm all ears.
  • PLEASE tell me this isn't a redback that I found under my baby's cot...! It had (before I fly sprayed and swatted it with a fly swat), a red on both sides - back and tummy, but that's hard to make out now. I have already had our 2 year old boy treated with anti-venom in Wangaratta Hospital September 2011. Very scary how it made his organs shut down. This year I've have had our house professionally sprayed outside and in the roof cavity. I wasn't game to have the inside done as we have 12 week old baby... BUT, since I found this about 30cm from where his head is... Please tell it's not a redback! We have this exact type of spider found all around our house; beside the microwave, behind the fridge, coming down from our evaporative cooling vents in most rooms, on power cords plugged into power points... Ahhh, yuck! It really sounds like we've been invaded... Help me please...
