Image: Wind Turbines
Final construction of 20 wind turbines at an offshore windpark "Middelgrunden" off the Danish coast near Kopenhagen. Each windmill will produce 2 Megawatts.
Today wind turbines can create enough electricity to power whole towns. The wind turns the blades on the turbine to power a generator. This produces electricity which can be fed into batteries or directly into the national grid. Some blades are now being made up to 130 metres in diameter, the length of a rugby field.
