This Striped Gudgeon was one of many specimens seen swimming up a steep grassy slope from the flooded Cooperabung Creek, Telegraph point, New South Wales, February 2013. The green background is artificial grass.

Wayne Bowen watched male and female fish ascending the slope to a height of about 10 metres.
He stated that "they left the flooded plain in an attempt to enter my overflowing perched dam."
