A snailfish (most likely Paraliparis sp.), photographed at a depth of approximately 1416 m, North West Shelf, 70 km off Barrow Island, Western Australia.

Three genera (30 species) of snailfishes are currently known from Australian waters, Careproctus, Paraliparis and Psednos.
