Image: Sheldon restoring a Riflebird
Sheldon cleans individual feathers of this Riflebird using a solution of CMC (carboxymethylcellulose), Terric N8 (detergent), and distilled water. Feathers are brushed with the solution onto blotting paper to draw out dirt, and finally rinsed with clean distilled water
