Image: Sectioned Dusky Whaler vertebra
A sectioned vertebra of a 220 cm TL Dusky Whaler caught off Crowdy Head, New South Wales. The translucent bands are annual growth rings. The top right image shows a whole Dusky Whaler vertebra. The section was made by cutting the vertebra through the middle from left to right.
