Image: Red-Triangle Slug
This is a great close up image of a (Very) Red Triangle Slug taken by John Forlonge at Mt Kaputar, near Narrabri, NSW.
The Red Triangle Slug, Triboniophorus graeffei, a native slug is probably the best known and one of the most spectacular slugs in Sydney gardens. It is Australia's largest native land slug and grows to a size of up to 14 cm. The distinctive red triangle on its back contains the breathing pore. It can be seen grazing on algae growing on the surface of smooth-barked eucalypt trees.
