These two men watched the singing competition from the sidelines, apparently unaware that they were being photographed. The photo contrasts strongly with most of Hurley's Papuan potraits, which usually show people posing stiffly and staring at the camera. The man nearest the camera holds a bamboo smoking tube with its plug of tobacco, and a strip of bark cloth over his right shoulder.

The picture of two Mekeo men watching the singsing, is the source from Jim Specht? Interesting! I have interest in looking into the Mekeo area for the purpose of research work for the Office of Tourism, Art and Culture.
