There are more than 200 Australian species of cicadas, most of which belong to the one large family, the Cicadidae.This particular cicada is a widespread and common species ranging from Queensland through Eastern NSW and Victoria to Mt Gambier, South Australia. It is the same species as the well known green and yellow forms, the Greengrocer and Yellow Monday.
