Image: Little Eagle mounted specimen
Description
The most familiar specimens are the mounted birds in public exhibitions, such as this Little Eagle Hieraaetus morphnoides. Mounts are specimens that are prepared in a lifelike manner.
Because mounts are more difficult to prepare and take up considerable space to store, they are generally only made when required for display. Mounts in public areas are susceptible to damage over time from exposure to light.
