Intimate Death

‘I was on a holiday in Borneo with my parents and sister when we heard the snake and gecko fall from a tree. At first we were scared, but the snake was not dangerous, so I took pictures. Eventually the small snake swallowed the big gecko completely.’

The paradise tree snake has enough venom to paralyse weak prey such as small lizards. It is known as the flying snake because it can launch itself from a tree and flatten its body, allowing it to glide through the air.
