Image: Firesticks in sheath E005254

This pair of fire sticks are contained within an ornamented sheath bound with resin and yellow plant fibre, and with a bulbous end covered in red abrus seeds. The firesticks and sheath are from Mapoon, Cape York, Queensland, and were acquired by the museum from W. Wood in 1895.
