Image: Childish Pearleye, Benthalbella infans
A juvenile Childish Pearleye trawled at a depth between 600 m and 850 m, off Holmes Reef, 50 nautical miles east of the Great Barrier Reef, Coral Sea, Australia, 4 December 2010. The specimen is registered in the Australian Museum Ichthyology Collection (AMS I.45478-008).

Additional information
The fish was identified by John Paxton and Peter Konstantinidis (Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences) as Benthalbella sp. There is currently a single species of Benthalbella recorded from Australian waters, B. infans, the Childish Pearleye.
