This wooden bird figure was collected by members of the Australian Museum's Sepik Documentation Project, a project which documented the Museum's Lower Sepik artefact collection and studied changes in coastal trade between villages.
Description: elongated, carved wooden bird; red eyes; green between feathers and underneath; feathers carved on wings and tail; two incised, dark brown stripes extend over length of tail.
