Beauty in death - Brad Pickford, Secondary School 2007

Fossicking around for interesting macro subjects I came across this dead dragonfly. The advantage of having a dead dragonfly as opposed to a live one is that you can take your time and try a lot of different angles with your photography. What I like best about this image is how the bright green foliage contrasts beautifully with the shimmering earthy colours of the dragonfly.
