This cotton ulos ragi hotang is ceremonial cloth from the Toba (Batak) people, Balige, Sumatera Utara (North Sumatra) Province, Indonesia. It has black and white stripes of simple warp ikat and wide bands of supplementary weft weave across each end. The edges are beaded with elaborate twined braid and it has twisted fringes. Size: 252cm x 78cm.
