This arm ornament was probably worn on the wrist by men to indicate hunting ability. It was acquired by Professor Mervyn Meggitt of the University of Sydney and sold to the Museum in 1957.
Description: arm ornament of six sharp, curved, dark brown bird claws of a Papuan Lorikeet (Charmosyna Papou) attached to a cord of twisted natural fibre; dark brown and grey feathers at top of each claw.
