Excavated in 1900 in Thebes (modern day Luxor), the Museum's mummy is a popular resident who many visitors enjoy seeing right up close.

Bound in fragile linen wrappings and entombed in a painted, wooden coffin, the Egyptian woman's body was mummified during the Third Intermediate Period (664-525 BCE) and donated to the Museum in 1912.

The mummy is located on Level 1 of the Museum.
