Eureka Photography Exhibition Tours Australia

Friday, October 17, 2008

The top 25 images from the 2008 New Scientist Eureka Prize for Science Photography are touring nationally with the next stop Questacon in the ACT.

Included in the tour are the winning entries: Phred Petersen's Blast Wave (1st), Steven Morton's Malaria-infected Human Red Blood Cell (2nd) and Katrina Putker's Birefringence Binge. The Australian Museum and New Scientist would like to congratulate our winners and finalists.

The science portrayed in this exhibition is immense: from capturing the power of a ballistic blast to showing the rare beauty of a lunar eclipse; from highlighting the devastation of climate change to demonstrating the lunacy of storm chasers.

Entries from amateur and professional photographers, working scientists, postgraduate and undergraduate students and those with a passion for everyday science are all represented in this unique travelling exhibition.

Come and be inspired by the ordinary and extraordinary.
