This week in Fish: Rebecca Field and a deepsea fish
It's been another huge week for the website. Rebecca has migrated so many pages Mark can't keep up! We added a rare deepsea fish to the collection and discuss the identity of a scorpionfish from Nelson Bay, New South Wales.
New staff
Rebecca Field has been doing a sterling job migrating content from the old website into the new content management system. She is working so fast that Mark cannot keep up (bliss!). Many of the 'new' pages currently do not have images. These will eventually come across from the old site but Rebecca can only do so much! Please email Mark McGrouther if you urgently need to see any of the missing images.
Rare deepsea fish
We have just added a rare deepsea fish to the collection. The specimen is a hipidoberycid, Hispidoberyx ambagiosus. Unfortunately the common name probably won't mean much to most people, so satisfy your curiosity by having a look.
Scorpionfish identification
The identificaton of fish shown in Tom Davis' image (attached to his comment) on the Soldier page caused some discussion. It was finally resolved by one of the world authorities on scorpionfishes.
