More on conserving the crocodile
Moving the crocodile out of the heritage showcase has given us a great opportunity to restore the entire specimen.
If you have been following progress on the restoration of one of our oldest heritage showcases (which you can find on the Rare and Curious blog), you’ll know that moving the crocodile out of the case gave us an opportunity to further restore the crocodile.
Sheldon and Megan, our Conservators, are working on the previously inaccessible side of the crocodile. Luckily there was not too much damage and they are really just doing some touch-ups to the scales. This work should take two days or so then, once the case is fully restored, we’ll have some fun putting the elements of the case back together – watch this space!
