The Yellowback Puller can be recognised by its colouration. The species occurs from northern Queensland to the south coast of New South Wales.

The Yellowback Puller can be recognised by its colouration. A dark stripe runs diagonally from the eye to the soft dorsal fin. Above this stripe the fish is yellowish-brown and below it is silver. The upper and lower margins of the caudal fin are black.

The species grows to 9 cm in length.Distribution
The species occurs from northern Queensland to the south coast of New South Wales.
