Mammalogy is the study of mammals, which include placental mammals such as rodents, primates and whales; marsupials such as kangaroos and koalas; and monotremes such as the platypus and echidna.

Reptiles and Amphibians

Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians, which include snakes, lizards, crocodiles, turtles, tortoises, frogs, salamanders and caecilians.

Fishes, Sharks and Rays

Ichthyology is the study of fishes, which include bony fishes such as tuna and seahorses, and cartilaginous fishes such as sharks and rays.
