Image Gallery: Roughies and Sawbellies
Roughies and Sawbellies are classified in the family Trachichthyidae. There are 14 species described from Australian waters plus at least two undescribed. Most are found in deep water, to depths of 1500 m, but others live in shallower waters and are commonly photographed by divers.
