Image Gallery: Morwongs

Morwongs occur in temperate waters of both hemispheres in the Indo-west Pacific.  These fishes have large blubbery lips and long, thickened pectoral fin rays.  Three genera occur in Australian waters, Cheilodactylus, Nemadactylus and Dactylophorus.
