Quality Management

The professional team at AMBS provide consultancy services consistent with the Australian Museum's high standards of quality performance, ensuring that we meet client expectations and requirements.

AMBS operates under a Quality Management System that is certified under Australian Standard/New Zealand Standard ISO 9001:2008 (registration number QEC 20084). A copy of the certification is available on request.

The primary emphasis of the Quality Management System is on the effective planning, management and control of activities that have an impact on the quality of our ecological, archaeological and heritage management services. AMBS seeks feedback from clients on the services provided and on the performance of the company as a whole. We evaluate the information in order to continually improve our performance and enhance client satisfaction.

Occupational Health & Safety

The Australian Museum operates under an Occupational Health and Safety Policy, incorporating risk assessment and safe working methods that are used by all employees. The nature of work carried out by AMBS is extremely diverse, involving a broad spectrum of activities ranging from animal handling to remote surveys. AMBS complies with the NSW Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 and the NSW Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2001 to ensure that OH&S issues are managed efficiently and effectively.

The Australian Museum expects all employees to have a pro-active approach towards the implementation of the OH&S policy, procedures and guidelines so that unnecessary legal, financial and personal costs can be avoided.

AMBS staff are certified in:

  • senior remote area first aid certification
  • WorkCover NSW 'Green Card' Construction Induction
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • defensive driving and off-road 4WD certification

AMBS staff have also undertaken industry specific safety training and inductions for rail, mining and Federal government organisations, including the Department of Defence.
