Animal Species:Haswell's Froglet
This small frog is usually a light grey-brown colour with irregular dark flecks down its back.
Identification
Haswell's Froglet looks like many other small frogs, but has toes with fringes around the edges. Haswell's Froglet has orange-red patches under its arms and legs, and a smooth pale brown belly. No other frog in eastern Australia has these features.

Distribution
Haswell's Froglet is found in eastern New South Wales and eastern Victoria.
Habitat
Haswell's Froglet is usually found living near water such as creeks, ponds, dams, ditches and swamps.
Communication
You are most likely to hear the male Haswell's Froglet's call in woodlands and coastal heath between August and March. It sounds like a short 'ank', slowly repeated.
