Image Gallery: Scott Prints

Between 1890 and 1898 the second volume of the Lepidoptera was published in five parts (Part 5 is the index). The second volume contains 17 colour plates. Harriet and Helena Scott did most of the lithography for this volume which was printed in Australia by the Australian Museum. The printed plates were then sent to England to be hand-coloured, using the sisters’ paintings as reference.
