Now serving RSS

We are very excited to announce the Australian Museum now has RSS feeds on all the blogs!

For those who are new to RSS feeds, it most commonly is referred to as Really Simple Syndication and it allows users to subscribe to websites and view the content without having to manually visit each individual site they are interested in.

The whole premise behind RSS is the web is expanding at an exponential rate and keeping up with all rich content is getting more and more difficult. RSS feeds or web feeds, help streamline this process and make reading and gathering relevant and meaningful content much simpler and more importantly faster.

For a visual guide of RSS please watch the video below to give a quick overview of the tools required to utilize this function. Good luck and enjoy this great new addition to our website!

Additional info for beginners (like me!) step 3 -- you can find the 'RSS feed' tab in Outlook under Tools/Account settings. step 5 -- use CTRL + V to paste the URL. B>)

I signed up with my Google Reader, and it works out of the box. Well done Web 2U team

This is great. RSS feeds mean you can subscribe to our blogs and updates are automatically sent to you.

To set up an RSS feed in Outlook follow these steps:

1. Go to the blog you want to feed to and click on th RSS feed button

2. Don't worry about the gobblydygook on the page - just go to the web address in the browser and copy

3. Go to the RSS feed button in Outlook and right-click

4. Click on "Add a New RSS Feed"

5. Paste the URL inot the box and viola - there you have it!

Let us know if you have any trouble with this.
