In December 2012 the NSW Minister for the Arts, the Honourable Geroge Souris, in consultation with the Australian Museum, appointed a new Trustee for the Australian Museum.

Ms Belinda Gibson takes up her role early in 2013. She is currently Deputy Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC). Before joining ASIC she was a partner at the law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques from 1987 to 2007, specialising in corporate and securities law and transactional advice. She was partner in charge of the Sydney office from 2000 to 2003. Our website will be updated shortly with her biography.

Here, you can meet our current Trustees.

The Museum is governed by a Trust established under the Australian Museum Trust Act 1975. Trustees play a valuable role in monitoring the performance of the Museum, assisting with the strategic planning process, and acting as advocates for the institution.
