Animal Species:Arnhem Land Long-eared Bat
Although these insect-eating bats are called Arnhem Land Long-eared Bats, they are found all over northern Australia.
Habitat
Arnhem Land Long-eared Bats roost by themselves under flaps of bark, close to the ground. They also roost in house roofs.
Feeding and Diet
Arnhem Land Long-eared Bats feed on insects. They fly slowly around, close to and under the leaves of thick forests as they hunt for their prey.
Conservation Status
Arnhem Land Long-eared Bats are vulnerable to loss of roosting sites and adverse changes to feeding areas from clearing of vegetation and land degradation from agricultural activities.
