Image Gallery: Alfonsinos and Redfishes

The Alfonsinos and Redfishes (family Berycidae) have large mouths and stronly ctenoid scales.  They live in temparate marine waters and feed on crustaceans and fishes.

Two genera and nine or ten species occur in Australian waters.  This gallery shows some of them.
