Hi Karla here, woke up Sunday morning with excruciating pain in my left arm could not believe what had just happened , it was 3.30 am in the morning , thought maybe it was a sign of a stroke, me chest felt fine , my breathing was ok , so I did not panic , the pain was so bad ,I took a inflammatory, 2 panadine forte waited an hour then went back to bed, got up at 9am still felt very sore I felt tired and quite sick in the tummy. Monday morning felt a little better but arm still very sore. around 4pm Monday I noticed a red swelling about 6inches by 6 inches on my left upper arm mussel, only then did I think I was bitten by a spider. I don't know what spider it was ,I took myself to the doctor he said probably a red back spider, my arm is still very sore but getting better, does anyone know how long it could be sore for I forgot to ask the doctor that question. thanks if anyone know the answer to that question , regards Karla..

When uploading media, are there guidelines for dimensions, file sizes, file formats, video codecs, and so on? Are media without embedded watermarks preferred? Thanks

Hello David. You might be best to approach the National Museum of Australia and/or the National Archives of Australia for more information on this object - just Google their sites to find their contact details. The BBC themselves may have some clues as well, if you can recall the name of the series. Good luck!

Hi this is a very long shot but I hope that I can help. A year or so ago there was a programme on BBC radio here in England about the early exploration of Australia by the settlers. It talked of people setting off to find their way across Australia and dying on the way through lack of water. In particular, it spoke of an exhibit which I think was a tin plate, that someone had scratched their last will into, having failed to find water. Any idea where this is? I am a musician and have written a song about it, called Australia, which is performed with my band at every show and gets really good reaction. www.thekoanbrothers.co.uk Would love to see a picture of this item that features in the song. Hope you can help. Thanks Dave

Hi there - yes, the site is in its infancy and we hope to beef up this 'About the site' page with some more information about the history of our website (it started in 1995, so is a longstanding site in internet terms!) and about how to use the site. And we certainly do not intend to send out any unsolicited material to our site user if they sign up - there is an option to receive several targeted newsletters, but you need not check those boxes at all. And yes, we hope that you will comment on particular pages of interest to you, adding to discussions or asking questions or even posting photos or short movie files!

I did try to find out more about australian museum by following the about us link but discovered a bunch of pictures and titles with little to no content. Is that because this site is still in it's infancy or because of some hidden agenda to do with harvesting peoples addresses for the putposes of spamming at a later date. I'm seeking a forum where I can learn more about aus by asking simple questions without receiving a bunch of advertising for sex, gambling, auction, or any other site thats completely irrelevant. I apologise if this is the wrong place for such a thing. This message was broken up by me to make it more readable but the form software does not seem to honour sane carriage return delineations and removed them all, making it unreadable for my screen reader.
